2 = 13.128, gl
The main objective of this research work was to determine the ultrasonographic characteristics of thyroid nodules related to the cytological diagnosis of patients at the Latacunga Cotopaxi General Hospital Diagnostic Health Center. Methodology: The type of design corresponds to the descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional observational, we worked with a sample of 80 patients with a diagnosis of thyroid nodules. Results: The percentage of women was 90% and men 10%. The ultrasonographic characteristics revealed that the size of the right lobe of the thyroid gland was of a medium level (61.3%), and a high value with 20%, also X2 = 13.128, df = 2 with a p value = .000 being the significance. less than 0.05, with the average volume being 4.26 cc., the size of the left lobe was of medium level (67.5%), with the average volume being 4.08 cc. The score was TR4: 4-6 points classified as moderately suspicious with 43.8%. The cytological diagnosis was benign in 72.5% and malignant in 27.5% corresponding to adults between 30 and 59 years of age. It was concluded that there was a significant association with a value p = .000 where the general hypothesis was accepted, obtaining the value of X2 = 13.128, as evidence for the association between the variables as a hypothesis; the ultrasonographic scores of the thyroid nodules subtraction are significantly related to P-value* = 0.000 being less than 0.05; TR4 values were found: 4-6 points, classifying as moderately suspicious with 43.8%, which was related to the cytological diagnosis, this being benign with 72.5% and malignant with 27.5%.
