This research aimed to establish the relationship between soft skills and disaster risk management among Civil Defense brigade members in the province of Ica, 2023. The Research is applied, because it seeks to solve problems of a region or society. Its level is descriptive, as it gathers information on actors and institutions, specifically Civil Defense brigade members in Ica. The quantitative approach analyzes the relationship between variables. The non-experimental design is cross-sectional, collecting data at a defined time point to describe variables and their impact. The correlational approach examines the association between these variables, following the proposed analytical perspective. The sample consisted of 61 Civil Defense brigade members from the province of Ica, with a sample of 52 participating, excluding those who did not wish to participate voluntarily. A survey technique was applied, developing a 24-item questionnaire validated by expert judgment to determine construct validity, and a Cronbach's alpha coefficient pilot test was applied to assess reliability. The results support the hypothesis of a significant relationship between soft skills and disaster risk management among Ica brigade members during 2023. The Pearson correlation of 0.594 (p < 0.001) indicates a moderately positive association that is statistically significant at the 0.01 level. This suggests that greater soft skills, such as leadership, assertive communication, and decision-making, are linked to more effective practices in disaster prevention, response, and recovery.
