Resumen
La tenencia responsable de mascotas, previene las zoonosis, por ello este trabajo se basó en
encuestas para saber si la población de Santa Inés Bajo-Chaclacayo cuenta con conocimiento
sobre tenencia responsable de mascotas y las zoonosis. Las encuestas, con una confiabilidad del
89.6 según el Alfa de Cronbach, contaban con 27 preguntas, dividida en tres dimensiones: datos
de los propietarios de vivienda, tenencia responsable y conocimiento de zoonosis, aplicadas
aleatoriamente a 62 viviendas. Los resultados se procesaron en el programa IBM SPSS Statistics
29.0. se obtuvo que 64.5% eran mujeres y 35.5% hombres; 79% contaban con mascotas y 21%
no; 40.8% de las mascotas eran machos y 24.5% hembras; 91.8% afirmó llevarlas al veterinario
y 32.7% desparasita cada 2 a 3 meses, el 28.57% aplica la vacuna de la rabia y 63.3% ha
esterilizado a sus mascotas; 16.3% de las mascotas cuentan con identificación en caso de pérdida;
71.4% las mantienen dentro de la vivienda; 73.5% recoge las heces y 77.6% se lava las manos
después de hacerlo; 98% tiene contacto físico con su mascota y 49% se lava las manos después
de estar en contacto con ellos; 90.3% no sabe que es zoonosis y 27.4% conoce las enfermedades
que transmiten las mascotas; 74% opina que nos pueden transmitir parásitos y 7% rabia, el 30.8%
de los que no tienen mascota le gustaría adoptar. Se concluye que los resultados obtenidos sobre
el conocimiento de tenencia responsable de mascotas es aceptable, mientras que el conocimiento
de las zoonosis es deficiente.
Responsible pet ownership prevents zoonoses, which is why this work was based on surveys to find out if the population of Santa Inés Bajo-Chaclacayo has knowledge about responsible pet ownership and zoonoses. The surveys, with a reliability of 89.6 according to Cronbach's Alpha, had 27 questions, divided into three dimensions: data from homeowners, responsible ownership and knowledge of zoonoses, applied randomly to 62 homes. The results were processed in the IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0 program. It was found that 64.5% were women and 35.5% men; 79% had pets and 21% did not; 40.8% of the pets were males and 24.5% were females; 91.8% stated that they took them to the veterinarian and 32.7% dewormed them every 2 to 3 months, 28.57% applied the rabies vaccine and 63.3% had sterilized their pets; 16.3% of pets have identification in case of loss; 71.4% keep them inside the home; 73.5% collect feces and 77.6% wash their hands after doing so; 98% have physical contact with their pet and 49% wash their hands after being in contact with them; 90.3% do not know what zoonosis is and 27.4% know the diseases that pets transmit; 74% believe that they can transmit parasites and 7% rabies, 30.8% of those who do not have a pet would like to adopt.
